He arrived 3 June 1787 Santa Cruz, Teneriffe, Canary Islands where the fleet stocked up on fresh water and vegetables. He departed Santa Cruz, Teneriffe, Canary Islands 10 June 1787 after the fleet stocks up and heads for Rio de Janeiro. The N.S.W Corps was disbanded and Robert became part of the 102nd Regiment of Foot. He served in New South Wales, Australia on 12 May 1810 After the Rum Rebellion the NSW Corps was disbanded. Robert joined the 102nd and returned to England on the HMS Dromedary. He departed on the ship 'Dromedary' 12 May 1810 . After the Rum Rebellion the NSW Corps was disbanded. Robert joined the 102nd and returned to England. He serving in England on 5 September 1811 when he was discharged from active service. He died on 6 November 1823 at Sandy Bay, Van Diemen's Land, Australia. He died on 6 November 1823 at Ireland After being discharged he may have returned to Ireland.
